Well this post has been a long time coming, hope to get back to the blog more often! This is an update of our lives over the past few months...
March 1st we found out we were pregnant! We were very excited to hear that another child (ha!) would be joining our family. Every time we would ask Harrison if he wanted a baby brother or sister he strangely would say "brother sister". We just laughed! March 19th I went for my first prenatal doctor appointment. Jermaine was out of town for work, of course! I wanted him to be there, but it was the first opening they had, and I knew the first appointment wasn't really all that exciting to him anyway!! After all, babies look like little dots at that point. Don't get me wrong, it is always the best feeling to hear that little heart beat, but you know what I mean. Thankfully my mom and Harrison came with me to the ultrasound since she was staying with us for a few days. So, we start the ultrasound, the tech is moving the wand around, and I think I see two different sacs, but surely she was just catching the one from different angles. Much to my surprise, she says, "Hmm, let me see, um... (a pause that felt like forever), Is there a chance you knew you were having twins?" The first words out of my mouth were a polite, "SHUT UP!" After that came lots of babbling..."oh my gosh, you are kidding, we wanted twins the first time around (we really did!), my husband's not going to believe me". My mom did not say a word! When we got home I had to tell Jermaine on Skype that we were having twins! He just laughed and laughed, then said "What are we going to do?".
After much anxiety, excitement, thinking, and a lot of praying, the most comforting part was when I realized that God knew this was coming, He was not surprised like we were! We then realized that He's been setting everything up without us even knowing it. Jermaine started a new job in September of last year that would allow me to stay at home. This is an answered prayer that has been prayed over a couple years. I always thought I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom, but once I had Harrison I knew I wanted to be at home with him. I actually resigned before we even knew I was pregnant, we prayed about it and just felt like we were supposed to trust the Lord and step out in faith.
Our house has also been on the market so that we can move closer to where Jermaine is working. It's been a few months...we are waiting (patiently...ha ha), praying, and trusting that the Lord will work it all out in His timing.
We've also been looking for minivans and will be trying to sell our Expedition that we just bought a year ago!
We are so thankful that we've had good reports at my prenatal appointments, both babies are bigger than average (go figure!), and are looking great. At the last appointment I was 17 weeks, but my stomach measured 24 weeks!! My doctor said this was normal with twins and that, basically, I just need to get over it, haha. I do feel like I need to explain my abnormally large stomach when people ask how far along I am, though!
So excited for our boy and girl!! |
Needless to say, we would appreciate your prayers!! I am clinging to my realization that the Lord knew this was all headed our way long before we did, and I know He will provide.
Cling to that fact-God did know before the creation of the world and this is not plan B!
ReplyDeleteSo thrilled for all of you.
Bought my first boy and girl gift yesterday!!!!!
